There is yet another addition to our detector collection on the way – a new Garrett AT Pro, to replace our rather battered and worn ACE 250. The ACE will be honorably retired after almost 6 years service in the toughest of environments – the Aussie Outback. The new AT Pro will be used for coin and relic hunting on our ghost town trips, and for prospecting in the goldfields. More information when the new detector arrives.
Happy Hunting everyone!
We took the Infinium out for its first ‘field trip’ and some ‘operator training’ to an old WW2 Army Hospital site on Sunday 14th August. It was fitting we should visit a WW2 site the day before ‘VP’ day. It was a ‘dig everything’ exercise so we ended up with a large collection of rusty nails, wire and bolts, and a single .22 cartridge. The Infinium was able to smoothly operate over very ‘hot’ ground that the VLF detectors could not penetrate. We will return to the site and publish a YouTube video of the two hunts in the coming weeks. We are still waiting on the Monoloop coil we have ordered, plus coil covers to protect the investment. The Infinium will feature in our return to the goldfields in the coming months. Happy Hunting everyone.
Our brand new Garrett Infinium has arrived and will be entering service shortly, following ‘operator training’, our first trip will be to the site of a former WW2 Australian Army hospital in an area of highly mineralised volcanic soil. These are the conditions the Infinium was designed for and we are looking forward to some great finds. Keep posted for our first Infinium video.
