WW2 Relic Hunt: Australian Army Camp (2nd Sortie): Garrett GTI2500.

We make our second visit to a site initially established by elements of the 9th Australian Infantry Division, 2nd AIF in 1943, and later utilized by the 7th Division in 1944 upon it’s return from heavy fighting along the Kokoda Track and the north coast of New Guinea. We pick up some great military relics and unearth more coins including another Sterling Silver Florin (Two Shilling). We also have a bit of a scratch around the Army “bottle dump/rubbish pit” – which produces a few surprises! Thanks for watching and please take the time to visit our site www.nqexplorers.com. Happy Hunting everyone!

  1. Thanks for watching mate – the music in the video is “Westaway” by Sky, a 1970s Australian/British instrumental outfit. All the best and HH! Warren.

  2. You have a restriction for viewers using iPads. All your other videos work, just not this one and the one related to this one. Can you change it so iPad can play it? Love your videos!

  4. Hi My Fellow TH’er
Nice finds that you are making. I suggest that you invest in a hand held pin pointer as that will speed up your finds and reduce the possibility of damaging any finds. I use the Garrett Pro Pointer and it does a great job. I always enjoy seeing your finds and wish you and yours much success on your future searches. Keep posting and I will keep watching and drooling at the same time!

  8. Thanks for you great comment Willo, I guess we are so used to “bush hunts” we would trip over on the flat grass of an oval LOL. No, we admire the skills of detectorists such as yourself who can operate in public places with minimal impact! Happy Hunting mate!

  30. [..YouTube..] Another fantastic video, Warren! Congratulations on all of your fascinating finds, especially the silver joey and florin that’s in such beautiful condition. It just goes to prove how rewarding it can be to check out those old rubbish pits. I appreciate those old news films of those who served in the army in that area. Exciting landscapes as always and I’m pleased to see that they are so productive for you. Here’s looking forward to the next video, so GL & HH you take care now. 😀

  31. [..YouTube..] Gtreat suff as always Warren you are on fire with the Florins mate. That is a gin spot to detect. get a video up of sifting that rubbish pit. Cheers ~Oz

  32. [..YouTube..] cool video! always wanted to get into something like this!
im the type that think old is cool!! 😀
love antiques and coins!! and who doesnt love silver and gold..
I need me a good ok metal detector and dont wanna pay 600 bucks! 🙁
could you give us a lil info on good brands and stuff to stay away from?
    cheers!

  33. [..YouTube..] Another ripper of a video Warren. Again your excellent mixture of “Then and Now” footage really adds to the quality of your work. Not just detecting blindly but using research and background knowledge. Can’t wait for your next one. Cheers for now,
    Tim

  34. [..YouTube..] Warren you just have to love that big silver. I saw the home made ID tag and the first thought I had was he had used a penny and when he had made a mistake just turfed it. I found a penny on the goldfields one and they had used it as a washer. When you dug the old dump I noticed a heap of round washers or canvas rings on the log. You just have to go through that dump and find more treasures Mate. Can’t wait till the next video. Cheers, Pete

  35. [..YouTube..] A detectorists dream and you found it ! Great one NQ that florin is in tip shop shape mate “You Beauty” you picked up some great military relics too and that army bottle dump/rubbish pit wow that’s gunna be a good one to go through, again mate top nic video thanks for sharing HH Jimmy

  36. [..YouTube..] Sorry mate, every time I use any of Sky’s tracks, Youtube blocks the video to mobile devices automatically, will investigate further! Thanks for attempting to watch!

  37. [..YouTube..] OK..I’m back from lunch..gee that 3hrs went fast…LOL. Now for a dose of Mr & Mrs NQExplorers. No Pro Pointer? Nice 3p/s. Love the live dig’s….live ammo..ouch? I would have enjoyed seeing your happy dance for that Australia Flash. ANOTHER FLORIN – WELL DONE…BEAUTIFUL COIN. The rubbish dump looks like a real winner. Gloves next trip..heard that before LOL. Great video — love the bush scenery. That place – with the lack of modern rubbish is as you say a detectorists dream. Cheers GL & HH
