On a recent trip to the goldfields we pick up a lovely 0.9 gram gold nugget from some heavily detected hot ironstone/quartz rubble with the Garrett ATX. On this short video, we also demonstrate the settings used and a bonus ‘live’ dig on a bit of old timers scrap metal deep in the bedrock! This excerpt will be included in a much longer video of the trip coming soon. Thanks for watching and subscribing and Happy Fossicking! Colleen and Warren.
ATX – Aussie Gold! Lovely 0.9 gram nugget from hot ironstone/quartz rubble. Detected with the stock DD coil. Video coming soon! Warren.
Join with us on a 770km (470 mile) across the remote and historic Cape York region in North Queensland, Australia. Starting on the east coast, we push inland in the footsteps of the prospectors and early settlers who first came to this region in the 1860s. We explore a number of old sites in the goldfields, fit in a bit of metal detecting, and end our journey at the historic Overland Telegraph Station on the west coast of the Cape overlooking the Gulf of Carpentaria. We hope you enjoy this video and can actually sit through the full 46 minutes! Happy Fossicking to you all! A day trip to one of our favourite detecting locations turns up some nice old relics, bottles and silver coins. On this particular outing we were privileged to be accompanied by George Mayer of the North Queensland Miner’s Den. George, a local ‘legend’, is a well-recognised authority on North Queensland relic and gold fossicking. We hope you enjoy our day trip with George as much as we did! If you are ever up in North Queensland, be sure to drop in and see George at the North Queensland Miner’s Den for all your detecting requirements. Thanks for watching and Happy Fossicking!
