Another sensational day in a former camp area of the Australian Army – in this installment Colleen alone digs six silver coins and a silver ring! Lots of full-length ‘live’ digs are included in this video, many filmed by Colleen herself. Along with all the silver a nice run of Rising Sun badges, ‘AUSTRALIA’ flashes, and uniform buttons come to light on one of the best days we have experienced for some time. We hope you enjoy the outing. Happy Fossicking! Colleen and Warren. www.garrettaustralia.com.au www.outdoortactical.com.au www.facebook.com/nqexplorers www.nqexplorers.com
Join with us in the first instalment of a series of short historical episodes documenting Australia’s colourful past. In this episode, we travel back to the 1850s and follow in the footsteps of the Diggers in the Victorian gold rush, to the site of the largest nugget ever unearthed, the ‘Welcome Stranger’. We hope you enjoy the journey – Happy Fossicking!
In this very brief instalment, we spent just a couple of hours at a very well detected lakeshore, and picked up a silver ring and five silver coins, before retreating to the bush and making some new finds in a spot that we have visited on past trips. We hope you enjoy this short video – our next video series will be a much longer, 3 part WW2 relic hunt. Happy Fossicking! Colleen and Warren.
On the final leg of our ‘Diggers Down Under’ Tour, we have access to a farm cottage on private land which dates back to the late 1800s, then we move on to an old church yard, dating from the 1850s. While we can’t show you what KG and Ringy found (you will have to wait for their new TV show to see that), Steve, Miguel and Warren make some great finds including George IV and William IV Halfpennys, Australian ‘Commonwealth’ coins, and a nice silver ‘Two Bob” to round out the hunt. Thanks for watching and subscribing!
Introduction music: “Come With Me Now” by the Kongos.

Following our morning on Bondi Beach, we headed west with KG, Ringy & the Garrett team to historic Hill End. Here we visited the History Hill museum, before heading into the bush in search of a racecourse dating back to the 1850s. Some great finds come to light including a gilt ‘Snake Buckle’ complete, an 1870 English silver Shilling, a Professor Holloways token dated 1858, musket balls and other historic artefacts. In the first outing of the ‘Diggers Down Under’ tour, we spend several hours on that Aussie Icon, Bondi Beach. Between six detectorists we recover more than 300 coins plus two silver rings and assorted jewellery. Tim ‘The Ringmaster’ Saylor alone hits a patch of more than 70 Spanish Euro coins. A return visit to a site that we haven’t detected for several years produces some ripper finds. Bronze Pennies and webbing buckles are followed by a large General Service ‘Rising Sun’ badge, and finally a very large piece of .925 silver in the form of a 1943 Florin ‘Two Bob’. We hope you enjoy this short outing in glorious North Queensland winter weather! Happy Fossicking! Warren and Colleen.
