Join us for the continuation of our Western Queensland Ghost Town adventure. In this instalment we head deep into the remote spinifex country in search of old towns which ‘boomed’ during the late 19th and early 20th century, but now lay abandoned. Some great finds including a silver Florin and a glorious Edward VII Shilling from 1906, no doubt dropped during the boom days in the old town. We also encounter some unusual wildlife, descended from animals originally used to haul copper and base metals to the many smelters. In this first instalment of a two-part adventure, we head deep into the wild country of Western Queensland with fellow relic hunter Peter C, in search of the long-abandoned mining settlements that dot the dry savannah and spinifex country. Part Two to follow! Happy Fossicking! www.nqexplorers.com www.garrettaustralia.com.au www.outdoortactical.com.au
Join us on our third ‘Boating and Detecting’ adventure as we visit multiple sites around the lake courtesy of Ed B (OIC Water Transport), with some great finds comprising coins, ‘AUSTRALIA’ shoulder flashes and a real ripper of a find unearthed as the first target of the day. We hope you enjoy our little adventure and subscribe to our channel! Happy Fossicking to all! Our second outing by boat on the lake courtesy of Ed B, turns up some great finds (many of which are pink!) – silver coins include a KG V Florin plus Rising Sun badges and ‘AUSTRALIA’ flashes. The adventure will continue in Part 3 as more relics come to light. Thanks for watching and subscribing! An adventure of a different sorts with water transport provided by our mate ‘Ed B’, as we explore some lesser-visited WW2 sites in a sensational day of silver finds, including two Florins and a silver ‘trench art’ ring. Thanks for watching and subscribing! Warren and Ed.
To test the new Garrett Gold Trap pan, we put a couple of buckets of wash through our half-scale 1850s pattern Gold Cradle (rocker box). Some nice little pieces result from prospecting the Old Timer’s way. Happy Fossicking! Warren, Colleen and Glen.
We return to a site which we haven’t visited for some time, the inevitable long grass and scrub made conditions difficult but we still managed some great finds, particularly Officer’s rank ‘Pips’, lots of spoons, and a handful of coins. We hope you enjoy your time in the bush with us! Happy Fossicking! Colleen, Warren, Peter and Zoe.
In the second instalment of a two-part adventure, we head deep into the North Queensland bush in search of old goldfields camps. Some great Chinese coins and relics come to light once again along with Aboriginal Cave Art, and the incredible ‘Dripping Cave’. A big thank you to Mr George Mayer (formerly of the North Queensland Miner’s Den) – for inviting us along and sharing his knowledge of this historic area of North Queensland. Happy Fossicking!
